As many of you know, before sailing further south in 2009 we left Jubilee in February to fly to China for two and a half weeks, meeting our daughter, son in law, and granddaughter there for the adoption of their second child. Since this is a sailing blog we won't bore you with scores of grandchildren pictures (many of you have received more than enough email pictures from us or Jill and Thomas already), but we thought you might be interested in seeing some of the sights, and contrasts, of today's China.
While in China we visited Bejing, Nanchang (a city of about four million in southeast central China), An Yi, a 1000-year-old village an hour's drive in the countryside from Nanchang, and Guangzhou, a city of about 14 million about 100 kilometers from Hong Kong.
